Ernesto's Pizza was amazing, first time in Boston with the family and we wanted to try an authentic Boston pizza, so we went near Little Italy, I found this gem from an old Facebook post, someone was asking where the best pizza place was in Boston, and the top comment from a Boston resident said ERNESTO'S, we tried slices of the pepperoni, sausage and peppers, a cheese pizza and margarita, and a pineapple.

You have got to try it. If I ever come back to Boston, this is my go to for pizza 🍕.

We stopped by after hearing so many great reviews and were excited to try Ernesto's, but it didn't quite live up to the hype for us. The pizza itself was just average, and the biggest issue was the crust—it was noticeably undercooked and doughy. Both the cheese and pepperoni slice and the vegetable slice had the same problem.
To be fair, we only tried individual slices and did not try their specialty whole pizzas, particularly the eggplant Parmesan pizza, which seems to be one of their signature offerings. If it's your first visit, it may be worth knowing their specialties before ordering by the slice.
The service was fine, and I can see why people like the casual, hole-in-the-wall atmosphere, but based on our experience, it wasn't a memorable meal. If you're in the area and want to give it a try, go for it, but I wouldn't consider it a must-visit pizza spot in Boston.
One thing to keep in mind is that seating inside is very limited and can get crowded, so there may be a wait for a table. If that's the case, I'd recommend ordering takeout and enjoying your pizza at one of the nearby parks instead.

6/28/26 I can see why this restaurant stays busy. The line was out the door. Mayb 10 minute wait to get to the front and order your slice of pizza 🍕.
For a little over 12 bucks u get a hugh slice of pizza and a drink.

Ernesto’s Pizza is a gem in Boston’s North End! The pizza was excellent, with huge, satisfying slices that are perfect for a hearty meal. Located right in the heart of the historic neighborhood, it’s a great spot to grab a slice while exploring Delicious pizza in a prime location!

i don't eat out often and if i do, i tend to try a new place rather than somewhere I've already been. not the case with ernesto's. I've been here so many times since moving to Boston. they genuinely have the biggest slice in Boston and their prices are amazing. even my sister, who's the pickiest eater I know, loved it and wants to go back. my go to place for a cheap slice. and they have fun toppings!
