I was tempted to try this place as I was exploring spots on the North End. I highly recommend their eggplant pizza, it’s one of the most uniquely delicious pizzas I’ve had. I wish I had the secret recipe to their breaded eggplant. Ernesto’s is great value for money, without compromising on taste. I also appreciated that they had a booth at the entrance of North End, advertising their spot. I hope they do great, they deserve it!

This place seemed to be a popular spot with the locals so I decided to give it a try. While not the best slice I’ve had, it stopped my rumbling stomach. Maybe it was the slice I chose (chicken, ricotta and pepperoni) but it definitely looked better than it tasted. I left satiated but not satisfied. Not sure if I’d return but if I did, I would probably just get a plain pepperoni slice.

The pizza was good, but the service was horrible! Of course, whenever you order pizza you have to order a fresh whole pie straight out of the oven. Otherwise, you’ll be stuck with a slice that has been sitting for who knows how long, which has lost all of its flavour. So yes the pizza was good, but when we asked for a few glasses of water, we had a rude response from the staff and were forced to buy bottled water. Naturally, I recommend that you don’t waste your money at Ernesto’s pizza.

Very good tasting slice of pizza. Best part is the huge slice (about the size of 2 NY size slices) is about $7. Very nice selection of slices as well

Go for: Substantial selection of high-quality pizza by the slice - like any good pie, you can taste it in the cheese and the crust.

Avoid if: You're claustrophobic.

Something surprising: Each slice is really two slices. You'll be well-fed for less than $10 (as of 2025...)

Reservation needed? No, counter service only. Get in where you fit in.

Overall Experience: 4/5. It's a hole-in-the-wall establishment, but the pizza can hold its own. For anyone visiting Boston, this is a no-nonsense establishment, so don't expect to be doted on. They have lots of different varieties. Seating is limited, so expect to wait for a table sometimes, or eat outside during the summer.
