Best Traditional Pizza
Bostonians love their pizza and Santarpios makes what is widely considered the tastiest pizza pie.
Established in 1903 and inducted into Boston's Hall of fame, the family owned business is considered by some pizza connoisseurs to make the best pizza in the world!
Decently good pizza pie reasonably close to the airport. Pros: pepperonis under the cheese, good sauce, quality anchovies (if that’s your thing). Woman behind the counter was extremely rude and impatient, but I wouldn’t let that bother you. I don’t think it is worth all the hype the thousands of reviews have left, but it’s a good spot. Would not go out of my to go here but if I was near by I’d go again
The space is small and if you’re sitting on the bar at a booth near the door you’re going to be cold the time if it’s cold out. The set up of the restaurant sucks.
The waitstaff and bartender were nice and attentive.
We sat at the bar because there were no open tables. We only ordered a pizza. The pizza itself was good. Nice chew to the crust, and a good char. It was enjoyable. Toppings are placed under the cheese which I don’t prefer, but I’m from the Midwest. I also wish the crust was seasons or buttered in some way. I got a side of sauce and I enjoyed the pizza sauce they use. It’s not homemade though. You can tell
This pizza and BBQ restaurant and bar was Recommended by locals, I also recommend eating here. It's close to the Boston airport. The broccoli chicken garlic pizza is delicious. The menu is small. The staff is friendly with some Boston flavor mixed in. There is a bar with beers and mixed drinks.
If you are craving for pizza, I would go to Santarpio's. The service was amazing! We liked the pizza and the meat kebabs.
Just because David Portnoy rated it as good doesn’t mean it really is. Three stars, they earned it. Waiter was lack luster, not personable at all, deserved a 10% tip. Pizza took way too long to get to the table. Facility is needing a full remodel but clean. Bathroom was clean. Music was an hour of 1950’s oldies, better than RAP but still brutal to listen to for an hour.
Watching other customers come in and do the whole “One bite, everybody knows the rules” stick was cumbersome but funny enough when you saw the disappointment of no cheese stretching off the pizza.
Now for full pizza run down….very stiff, cracker style crust, not burnt but well done and dry. If that is your style then this is your place. The sauce was tasty but better with garlic as an added topping. Cheese was too well cooked, no stretch, low fat content would be my guess. Sausage was good as a topping.
Traveled too far for an average pie.
