Description

It’s always been as much about the people as the pizza. From the moment we welcomed our first customer to our original shop on historic Charles Street in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood back in 2001, all of us at Upper Crust Pizzeria have lived to see the look. You know, that look where one bite makes you realize you’ve just discovered something amazing. Maybe even life changing. If you think that’s a little much, consider this: to us, pizza is life. And some days, we know it is to you, too.

So we take our pizza seriously. Like, from scratch seriously. We believe the only way to achieve amazing is with fresh. Every morning, we make our famous dough fresh by hand. We prep our toppings fresh. And for our sauce we grow tomatoes on our own special vines at a local farm, fresh as the day they were handpicked and mixed with just the right herbs and spices—cooked once and only once, right on your pizza. All so that slice ends up in your hands, crazy fresh.

We’re so proud of our process that we’ve designed our pizzerias so you can watch. We invite you into our open kitchens to watch the dough for your pizza being rolled ultra-thin in the famous Neapolitan style. To get a bit giddy when you see your toppings fall into place. To have your heart skip a little beat when your pie goes into our artisan stone deck oven for the finishing touch—and comes out hot, with that perfect yin and yang of charred and airy on the bottom, melted and savory on top.

Think of us as a new spin on a familiar story. We’re the traditional pizzeria you’ve always loved at heart, but in a modern space that just feels—in a word—fresh. We build our shops from the ground up, with some of that original Boston spirit baked right in. You might even catch a wicked good, if you listen.

While you’re here, you’ll discover our real secret: our people. From the cashier to the pizza-maker to the delivery guy on his way out the door, you never know when a friendly hello will turn into a little more. We’re people-people. And we take care of our people, always looking to help them grow as we do.

Now with 10 shops in the US and 5 internationally, growing is what we’re doing a lot of lately. And in each new neighborhood where we hang our sign, we find ways—small and big—to give something back. We’re about community, too. Because pizza brings people together, and so should we.

But our pizza? Also brings people back. It’ll be nice to see you again soon.

OUR MISSION

We live to put a little BETTER in your day with everything we do. That means teaming up with proven local vendors and organic farms to handpick premium ingredients. It means building a team that lives and breathes our values. With every bite of our delicious award-winning thin crust pizza, you’ll realize that you’ve just discovered something amazing. Something BETTER.

We’ve tried lots of pizza and this place has our favorite pizza in the city! My kids and I are regulars and Monica always takes care of us and knows exactly what we like! Upper Crust is our go to place for pizza. The crust, tomato sauce, and cheese are all fantastic!

Monica from Upper Crust on Tremont St always helps me with my big orders and all dietary restrictions! She is incredible at making sure our orders are correct and food is delivered in a timely manner. We always go to Upper Crust based on the great service from Monica and her team!

Online ordering is a breeze! They've been on time with their estimates for multiple visits, and my pizza is always still piping hot by the time I get home. One of my favorite spots for a not so basic pizza. Great variety, looking forward to trying them all! Their calzones are also excellent.

This pizzeria was highly recommended by a local. I visited them and I was delighted with the taste of the pizzas. As I walked in, I noticed they have pizzas by slices and I ordered the regular cheese. It was delicious! The customer service is as outstanding as the tasty pizza. We decided to dine in and the server took the the pizzas to our table. They have all seasoning: olive oil, red pepper, oregano, and pecorino cheese.

They have a washroom on premises. Paid parking is outside in the street .

By far the worst delivery/food eatablishment experience I have ever had. After the pizza was initially 45 min late, we thought something was amiss, so we called them to find out the status of our delivery, considering they were only a 10-12 min walk away. We tell him(Marco) the issue and he says "it should be there soon, any issue call us back." SWell we did, 10 min later, after texting back and forth with delivery person, who kept swearing up and down and all around she was "here". Although we kept texting back, no, you are not because we are outside waiting. She then texted a photo as to show us yeah I'm there! News flash, she was nowhere near our apartment. Meanwhile, the guy on the phone kept saying two minutes. I told him, I would be able to see her if she would have be 4 min away by both the left and right of me. He then proceeded to speak to someone else in portuguese, then placed me on hold. He got back on the phone and said, " she'll be there soon." The conversation was 6 min long after hold and he (Marco) still kept saying , she'll be there in 2 min. He placed me on hold again. Told him pizza would most likely NOT be HOT, which would have been so, if they would have delivered it on time & to the right address. (again a 10 min walk) Chuck Wullery (if u know u know) again stating, she'll be there in 2 min. At this point I was over it and requested a refund because it was 1-1/2 hrs the pizza would not be hot.... his reply was "that's not my problem" I asked to speak to a manager, at which point he placed me on hold for 5 min. I knew he would place me on hold, until I would hand up, which I did. I attempted to call more 3 times. No answer....they of course knew what # was calling. This wasn't so much surprising as it was disheartening. After a very grueling and emotional long day caring for my bed ridden brother with dementia, I was subjected to this kind of treatment. Establishments don't care what knind of people they have working fir them anymore it about $ not people. JESUS' return is imminent guys. I pray people start learning to treat each other with kindness & respect. Oh waitvthat boat has sailed. We're moving to the anew Golden Age. Hold on to your pantaloons guys, because it's going to get real bumpy, to say the least. So please please repent, so that you may have everlasting life. The Jesus The KING went out as the LAMB of GOD but is he's returning like a LION...The Lion of Judah!
Praise Hinor & Glory to The Most High King Yeshua Hamashiach.
